We are super excited to announce a partnership with one of our all time favorite DJs, Miles Maeda. In case you missed the news, Miles started a blog last year to share mixes he has done over the years, both new and old, released and unreleased. Remastered with wonderful commentary and mostly complete tracklistings, this blog is a treasure and we are excited to be able to co-host these mixes here.
If you are wondering where to start, I wouldn't worry too much about picking a bad one. Miles has never released a mix that was anything less than high quality though we're particularly partial to his 1992-1994 mixes, especially the ambient/dub/mellow-techno ones like Savasana and Eve Ryd Ayl If E. Thanks again to Miles for the support and stay tuned for a more traditional update later this month! |

Happy holidays from all of us at RaveArchive.com! 2009 has been a great year for us with over 100 people a day now stopping by to listen to mixtapes, read some classic zines and ask where the flyers are (coming, we promise!). The amount of support that has been shown to the site has been wonderful and we can't thank you enough. Whether it's donating tapes, contributing via paypal or just participating in the forums, we've been so excited to see the site and community grow. One thing we would love to do in 2010 is port the site from the buggy and slow-as-molasses Joomla to the much better supported and faster running Wordpress. Unfortunately our PHP skills are almost non-existant and we could really use some help with the transition. So if you're a front-end developer with some freetime to help with debugging and tinkering please contact us! This year Santa brought us a bunch of new mixes including most of the Fever: Time to Get Ill series by Scott Henry & Charles Feelgood, some killer house mixes by Roy Davis Jr & Angel Alanis as well as some classic Jungle tapes by Brockie, Flux, Kenny Ken and many others. We also have two partnerships planned for early 2010 that should be super exciting to everybody but particularly Chicago area househeads. Stay tuned for more info next month! In the meantime the list of all artists with new mixes added since our last update is after the jump. |

Thanks so much for the sudden and unbelievable generosity you've shown to the site. The donations we've received since putting the request out has all of us here feeling much better about being able to continue to grow and expand RaveArchive.com without it bankrupting us. Every little bit helps us immensely so please donate whatever you can! On to the good stuff.
Flyers: The Flyers section is coming back shortly! Komando has promised to have it up by the end of next month. The database is almost finished being rebuilt and all that's left is integrating it properly into the site. Keep checking back as we plan on pushing this live the moment it's ready.
New Music: Almost 50 new mixes are live including 10 Terry Mullan mixes, the rest of Tron's mixtapeography (RIP) & a bunch of classic DJ Dan mixtapes, remastered and donated by the man himself (thx for the head's up Dan!). Other notable ones include a new Casper mix, a great Phil Free Art 'ardcore mix and a stomping Hyperactive live PA. The full list of artists with new mixes are after the jump. |

Fifty new mixtapes have been added since our last update most of which donated by the awesome Lil' Phil. Highlights include Richie Hawtin, Gene Farris, Terry Mullan & our first complete Helter Skelter tape pack (Energy '98). Thanks to everybody who's donated in the past month and, please, if you have a couple bucks to support the site with it would be super appreciated.

We're also looking for new mixtapes to add. If you are sitting on any cassettes from back in the day that aren't on the site, please contact us! All tapes sent to us are returned once we are done!
The full list of artists with new tapes this month occurs after the jump. |

A couple quick announcements before we get to the list of new mixtapes:
1. Last month we continued our trend of record breaking months and are now receiving about double the visitors that we were getting at the beginning of the year! We're extremely grateful for the support and know that we would not have gotten as popular as we have without you all spreading the word. One unfortunate side effect of the increased usage of the site is the increased cost it takes to host it. Faced with the choice between decreasing the quality or number of the mp3s available for downloading, adding banners or asking for donations, we felt the most PLUR choice was to add a PayPal button to the right rail and hope for some support from you all. So please support our scene and help us out if you can. If every one of you donated just $5 a year, that would go a long, long way to us being able to keep this site up and running!
2. Related to the increased usage, we've added a pop-up flash player for streaming slightly lower quality versions of the mixes. Besides saving us a bit of bandwidth, we feel the flash player is a much better way to listen and create playlists. The original, high quality mp3s are still available for downloading so please continue grabbing them for your iPods or other portable media devices.
So now on to the list of new mixes! Almost all of these (including over 20 Frankie Bones mixes) were contributed by our overseas archiver Jon Dica. Make sure to check out his killer booty mix we just added and get your juke on or click "Read More" for the full list! |
