so, without downloading or opening two pages, is there a way to make the player work so one can listen while surfing? perhaps making the player open in a new window automatically?

why not just leave the page open in a tab? you do use firefox don't you? IE7 has tabbed browsing as well.....but it sucks.

Yeah that's how I get around this. TBH I'd much rather have tabs on one window than all kinds of other shit open to deal with - makes me look like I'm doing work and not screwing around...
